We are committed to providing services that will enhance the students’ school curriculum, as well as challenge and extend the students’ pursuit of knowledge. Family involvement is crucial in obtaining these goals and the families will be encouraged to actively participate as partners in these programs on a regular basis.

Homework Haven

Qualified teachers will assist with homework assignments to help students increase their knowledge in assignments and improve their overall skills and abilities in their curriculums.

Computer Lab

Learn basic computer skills to function better in this age of technology.

Language Arts

Teach and reinforce skills aligned with Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools, Common Core State Standards, and North Carolina Standards.

Math

Teach and reinforce skills aligned with Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools, Common Core State Standards, and North Carolina Standards.

Science Exploration

Explore science activities and projects that include the scientific method.

Mentoring

Staff and volunteers from all walks of life are interjecting character development and behavior modification during activities and sessions for student’s grades 5th – 8th.

Community at Large

We encourage the relationships of our youth and their families to make FLIP’s programs successful.

Enrichment Activities

Summer enrichment activities that provide meaningful experiences, lasting impressions, and fulfillment that promotes well-rounded and life-long learners.

Herman Lester Wilson College Scholarship

FLIP is planning to sponsor a scholarship program for current or inbound Winston-Salem State University students. The Herman Lester Wilson College Scholarship will be based upon academic performance, and will require that the student meet the minimum GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale and enrollment requirements as stated below. There will also be a Non-Traditional Scholarship Program for any student who would not be classified as a recent high school graduate. Check back here for more information.

Frank Smith Sr. College Scholarship
