About Us

Who We Are

Family Love & Involvement Program, Inc. (FLIP) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to empowering youth, adults, and families, particularly those from the Black/African American community, to discover and celebrate the rich history, contributions, and achievements of their ancestors. Founded by a group of family members from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, who grew up in the local housing projects, FLIP was born out of a desire to provide hope and encouragement to the youth in their community.

Our journey began with a tutoring program in one of the local housing projects, but our vision soon expanded to inspire a deeper understanding of self and a sense of pride in one's heritage. Today, our team of educators, retirees, college students, community activists, and other dedicated individuals from diverse backgrounds come together to explore the greatness of Black and African people by sharing inspiring stories, historical facts, experiences, and resources in FLIP’s Our History 365 Program.
